At Philomath University equips you with the right skills and capacity to tackle the different challenges you will come across in the ever-changing business world. Entrepreneurship is the creation or extraction of economic value. With this definition, entrepreneurship is viewed as change, generally entailing risk beyond what is normally encountered in starting a business, which may include other values than simply economic ones. Amongst the factors of production, namely, Land, Labour, Capital and Entrepreneurship, the later played a pivotal role in the leadership and coordination of other factors. The course not only make students becomes entrepreneurs in their own right but also become expert advisers to others who are struggling to stay afloat with the constraints that now confront most businesses. Entrepreneurship remains the life wire of any economy and more entrepreneurs are needed to address the myriads of problems confronting the nation, particularly unemployment.

Department of Entrepreneurship Studies at Philomath University is fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC). We have experienced faculty members that are entrepreneurs themselves. The Department equips students with the right skills and capacity to tackle the different challenges they will come across in the ever-changing business world. The Department partners other entrepreneurs for mentoring, coaching and knowledge sharing andragogy. Students are expected to initiate, create, maintain and expand business ideas frontiers that will be pitched with some angel investors and philanthropies. The students will be guided into identifying a business model that will train their mindsets and mentor them into business owners or advisors. Students are expected to be part of the internship that will acquaint them with requirements for running a successful business entrepreneurially.

Requirements

O’ Level Five Credits at SSCE in
English, Mathematics, Economics and any other two relevant subjects

Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination:
English, Mathematics, Economics and any other social science subject.

Direct Entry:
(2) A Level passes to include Economics and at least one of, Accounts, Business Management, Government, Geography or Mathematics.

All first year students who accept Philomath as their firm choice are guaranteed a place in accommodation on the main campus provided they’re eligible and complete their application by the deadline.

All inclusive rent

Your rent will include utility bills, basic contents insurance, maintenance, communal cleaning and a contribution towards your halls activity fund. Your accommodation fees are paid on a semester basis, so it’s easy to keep track of what needs to be paid and when.

All halls have CCTV. We also have 24-hour manned security officer for oncampus accommodation and mobile patrols. All student accommodation offered by Philomath has robust fire safety measures in place. All of our halls are signed up to recognised accommodation code of practice, guaranteeing your right to safe, good quality accommodation.
