Department of Public Administration is a field in which leaders serve communities to advance the common good and effect positive change. At Philomath University students are equipped with skills to manage at all levels of government (local, state, and federal) as well as nonprofit organizations. The department is poised to train seasoned administrators in a manner that will ensure integrity in governance in the public space and perfect the art of good governance at civil stage. Students are exposed to cutting age tools of modern public administration and will be equipped with needed strategies that will ensure values are administered in public service. Students learning will be complemented by a partnership arrangement with the Chartered Institute of Administration for certificated professionalism and advancement in global administrative frontiers. The department will provide all the support to students to ensure unhindered atmosphere and conducive learning environment for creativity and innovation.

Department of Public Administration is fully accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC). We have experience faculty members. The Department engages in a variety of initiatives, real social and economic benefit to this nation and it exposes the students to ever changing digital world. The Department will provide a practical and demonstrable standard for public administration in the world. The Department will partner relevant government ministries, department and agencies to mentor students in the art of purposeful public administration and civil governance that all will be proud of. The department is poised to support students achieve their goal of becoming respected public administrators and service providers in an atmosphere void of rancor and bickering.

Requirements

O’Level Requirement:
Five Credits SSCE in English, Mathematics, Economics, Government and any other two relevant subjects.

Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination:
English Language, Mathematics, Economics and other social science course

Direct Entry:
Two (2) A Level passes chosen from Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Government, Geography and Statistics.

All first year students who accept Philomath as their firm choice are guaranteed a place in accommodation on the main campus provided they’re eligible and complete their application by the deadline.

Your rent will include utility bills, basic contents insurance, maintenance, communal cleaning and a contribution towards your halls activity fund. Your accommodation fees are paid on a semester basis, so it’s easy to keep track of what needs to be paid and when.

All halls have CCTV. We also have 24-hour manned security officer for oncampus accommodation and mobile patrols. All student accommodation offered by Philomath has robust fire safety measures in place. All of our halls are signed up to recognised accommodation code of practice, guaranteeing your right to safe, good quality accommodation.
